Last Email.. 18 things I have learned in 18 months

After 18 months serving as an offical representive of Jesus Christ in the Brasil Florianopolis Mission. I am full of emotions as I write my last email to all of you. I want to start thanking EVERYONE for all the support this past year and a half. I am so grateful that I have wonderful family and friends that love the gospel and support me in the things that I love. I would like to share with you guys 18 things that I learned in the past 18 months. (but dont worry I have learned alot more that i can count and have time to write)

1. This is the ONLY TRUE and LIVING church of Jesus Christ on the Earth. Yes, alot of other churches have parts of the gospel. But i know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God’s church on the Earth today. That it was restored in the fullness so that we can have eternal families and all the other blessing and makes all the other covenants necissary to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father.
2. I learned over and over again that God hears and answers our prayer, if we pray earnesly and with faith that He can do all things.
3. Covenants with God a meant to LIVED not just made. I know that through the living of our covenants we able to return to the presence of Heavenly Father not just making the convenant.
4. I learned how to eat more than 2 plates of food and not get sick! (EAT MORE SISTER EAT MORE!)
5. I have learned the heart break of loving someone so much that when they turn away from the Gospel, you long that one day they will be able to accept the gospel again.
6. I have learned the joy of watching those you love move their lives because they have come to know the truthfulness of the Gospel.
7.I have learned how to unclog the toilet using a plastic bottle…. it gets a little ugly but when its all you have… gotta do what ya gotta do…
8. I learned that Heavenly Father KEEPS His promises. He will always do His part if we are doing our best to do our part.
9. I learned that Heavenly Father is STILL a GOD of miracles. He always was and always will be. He has never changed. And through our faith and hard work He will perform miracles showing His love for us.
10. I learned that The Book of Mormon moves lives, if we let it. I know that it is the word of God and that was written by His holy prophets and it has a power to move our lives as we read it, applying its teachings and believing that it is true.
11. I learned not to be ashamed to ask for water or use the bathroom of strangers even if they spent 3 minutes yelling at you telling you how you are wrong.. but almost always they let you use the bathroom..
12. I have learned patience. Not only with others but with myself, and Heavenly Father’s plan. I have learned to be patient in my weaknesses and the Lord with make up the rest.
13. I learned the obedience with exactness brings miracles and happiness.
14. I learned not to care how a person is physically; in their underwear, towel, naked, they need the gospel just as much as the next person.. haha
15. I learned that we have to give our all in the circumstances that we have. That is all that God ask of us.
16.I have learned to walk 14 miles in one day and then wake up and do it all over again!
17. I learned that member- missionary work is ESSENTIAL part of God’s plan. I know that the members have a huge part in bringing the Gospel to the whole world.
18. and most importantly I have learned that Jesus Christ is my Savior. That He loves me and that suffered and died and lives again for me.I learned that His atonement is sufficent for all of us. I know that He lives and that He loves me, He loves you. I know that repentence is essential for our Salvation. I know that Christ is God’s Son, our Brother, our Savior. I cannot deny the testimony I have of my Savior Jesus Christ. I am honored that I had the opportunity to serve for a year and half in His behalf. I am grateful to have been rejected, yelled at, made fun of, and some times percicuted for being His servant. I love my Savior and I love what He has done for me.
The mission isn’t about baptisms. It is about doing your best to follow the Spirit to help as many people as you can. The mission has changed my life. I will be forever grateful for this opportunity.. I have never felt so much sadness to have to finish something so wonderful. But I know that This is the church of Jesus Christ restored Through Joseph Smith, with all the truths we need to return home to our Savior. I love you all and I will see you all soon!
For the last time as a full time representive of Jesus Christ,
Sister Ogle.

So this week was really wonderful!!! We taught Fernanda and she accepted the invite to be baptized and we are working on that now! She is amazing and I love her soooo much!

We went and visited Lordes again (the lady that wanted to commit suicide) and she read what we left her in the Book of Mormon and prayed and she understood, it was sooo cool. We read a little with her and you could see her begin to understand that really she has a Savior that loves her and understands her and she felt the power of the Book of Mormon. She accepted to be baptized and we are working towards her date.
We were knocking doors yesterday and we found two less actives that are returned missionaries that talked really bad about the PEOPLE of the church and there is something very important that every one of us needs to know. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is True. The church is true. BUT THE PEOPLE ARE HUMAN. No one is perfect only the person that established the Church, our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that this church is the only true church on the face of the earth! I love you all and I will see you all soon!
PS IT IS A SUPRISE FOR DYLLAN AND JORDAN WHEN I AM COMING HOME SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND DONT SAY ANYTHING TO THEM!!! See you all soon!
Love always,
Sister Ogle

This week was super interesting…. Something that I learned over and over again is that the gospel is for everyone.

Monday an irmao from our ward called and said that he has a friend that wants to be baptized and wants to be taught, Tuesday we went to visit her, her name is vanda, and we found out she is dying of Lung cancer but she is sooooo ready for the gospel and she understands everything we are teaching her. We are trying to help her be prepared for baptism but she is literally on her death bed so everything is in the hands of the Lord.
The other day we were knocking doors and we stopped to talk to lady, Lordes, who was crying but she didnt want to talk to us at all. So we told her if she ever needs anything we are willing to help her. The next day we passed by her road and felt we needed to go visit her. We got there and she was outside almost crying we started talking to her and she just started sobbing and sobbing and in the end we just held her and told her of the love the that Heavenly Father has for her and we introduce the Book of Mormon and she told us how she was planning on killing herself when we found her that second day. It was a sacred moment to help her feel the love that her Savior has for her. I am sooo grateful for the Savior.
We started teaching another family who everyone in the family lost their jobs and they are confused and hurt on why this is happening. We taught another family who are thinking about seperating and they just lost their daughter a few months ago… In the end, all of the people we have taught this week had serious problems in their lives. And we had the opportinty to help them see the light that comes through living the gospel. I really know that any and all the problems that we may face in this life can be easier and resolved with the living of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love this gospel.
This Sunday was my last fast sunday in the mission field and it was a really special one too. An Irma from Balneario Camborio (my first area in the mission) was visiting our ward. I was super emotional but I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve a missionary for a few more weeks! I love you all!
Love Always,

So I have been the WORST writer in the world lately. I apoligize. But I wanted to take a little bit of time and explain what has been going on recently.
First of all, a little while ago I told you about an investigator Yilda. I just wanted to update you guys on her. Before I got sick she was ify on if she wanted the gospel or no. But it seems that as I was sick Heavenly Father was preparing her to recieve the gospel even more than before. We went back and taught about the Book of Mormon and invited her to be baptized! She accepted. She is having health problems right now that are affecting her from progressing but it is amazing before she didnt understand very well what was taught but now she explains the doctrine of what she reads in the Book of Mormon to US! She wants to be baptized but right now she needs health to do what is required. PRAY For her!!
Second of all, recently I have said goodbye to some of my best friends on the mission and it is such a bittersweet feeling because you grow to love these people so much and all of a sudden you have to say good bye not knowing when you will see them again. But I am grateful for a Loving Heavenly Father that has a perfect plan for each one of us.
We had an activity in two zone about 2ish weeks ago. Face to Face with our mission President. It was sooooo wonderful! I am so grateful to be working with a wonderful mission president and wonderful missionaries!
Amanda, we were knocking doors this week and met Amanda. She is 24 and she is READY for the gospel. Just so you understand, our first lesson she sang the primary hymn, Im trying to be like Jesus to us!! It was sooooo cool!
And Fernanda. So This last week a member of the bishopric called and said that a lady walked into the church wanted to recieve the missionaries so we went and vistited her. She is ready but a little crazy. I am soooo grateful for all the blessings and miracles that are already happening in my last month here on the mission. I am grateful for all of you and all you do for me! Remember that so that Christ could pass through the Atonement He focused on the joy. Dont forget that there is so much to life and so many blessings that are here for you. I love you all and hope you have an amazing week! I will send more pictures this next week!
Love Always,
Sister Ogle

Soooooooooooo AFTER THIS WEEK I CAN FINALLY START WORKING LIKE NORMAL! This week we still couldn’t do much but we started teaching the husband of a Irma in our ward they are super great!! Also we had mission tour, where a general authority comes and talks with us. Elder Adukites and Elder Lynn G. Robbins came. It was a super fast meeting but it was sooo good. I liked alot of what Elder Robbins said. He talked about as missionaries we need to expect miracles, especially when we are being obedient. I love this work. But I also love the Gospel because it just isnt for missionaries. It is for everyone. The gospel is the good news that everyone needs. The gospel is knowing that our families can be eternal. It is knowing that we can be forgiven. It is knowing that we have a Savior. It is knowing that there is life after death. I love the gospel and i love the opportunity I have to share the good news with others. I hope you all have an amazing week!

I know my Father loves me. (March 13, 2017)

So Last week was honestly one of the weeks I have grown the most and seen the love that my Heavenly Father has for me. I dont have much time but this week I was literally in the hospital for the whole week but I am so grateful for the missionaries in my zone and the sisters that live with me. They took such good care of me. The Elders one night went to the hospital to and had a Family Home Evening with me and the Sisters. I am so grateful for EVERYONE that has helped me this week and prayed for me and loved me. I love you all! And I hope you have a great week!

Family and Friends, I hope everything is wonderful for you guys! I love and miss you all!

To be super honest with guys this week was not one of my best, in fact was one of the hardest I have had on the mission so far. These past couple weeks I have been pretty sick, I was so sick this week that everyday this week I was either in bed or at the doctors. It was hard because all I want to do and wanted to do was work, I have 8 weeks left as a full time missionary and I really wanted to just work. I went to 4 different doctors and I recieved 4 different results I am currently waiting to do a blood exam to see if it is dangue. But I am still not sure what it is. But I couldnt be more grateful for my companion Sister Coelho, for the comfort she gave me when I was upset about not working, and for her patiences as we work out these things. I am also super grateful for the Elders in the office, they have been doing a lot for me and alot so that I can get the help I need I know it is their job but they are great for doing what they are doing and did for me. I am grateful for Sister Silva (my presidents wife) and all the help she has given me this week. But most of all I am so grateful for my Savior. I was having a really hard time because I just wanted to work, I just wanted to teach someone and help someone but the moment i was unable to help myself. I was reading in D&C when I read in section 122:7-8 and before it was explaining things that Joseph had to pass through and then it said,”Know, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience and shall be for thy good. The Son of Man hath decended below them all (the hard things). Art thou greater than He?” I am so grateful for my Savior. I am grateful that He felt EVERYTHING I feel and He knows exactly how to help. I love you all and I am soooo grateful for all you do for me. I hope you have a great week!
Love,
